The Diploma in Psychology is meant for those who wish to obtain degree in psychology and/or work in the field. We provide enough transferable courses for students planning to enter Bachelor's degree after obtaining a Stansfield Diploma.

Our programme provides a basic foundation essential to learning psychology and provides adequate training in various settings like education, mental health and corporate industry. The curriculum is unique because of its special focus in fostering students’ mastery in psychological theories and applications. It also opens the door to modern techniques and approaches in the field; this will provide opportunity for students to keep themselves updated with the new trends in behavioural studies.

SPECIAL FEATURES OF THE PROGRAMME

The Psychology programme at Stansfield College is creatively designed to cater student’s academic and professional needs. Our system of education is built to deliver optimal learning to our valued students. We provide basic and core courses that aim to qualify students for degree studies and prepare them for careers in a variety of settings such as hospitals, mental health clinics, and research organizations. Topics include Psychology 1 and 2, Developmental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Biological Psychology, and Social Psychology

Our curriculum is adapted to the demands of Singapore society, like the clamor for professional help. We have specialized programmes to train students in the field of Child and Adult Psychology, Counselling and Research.

We believe in the value of experiential learning and so we provide an avenue where students can practice their acquired learning with our sessions on Supervised Case Analysis and Presentation, Supervised Experimental Research and Supervised Research Project.

Entry Requirements:
  • A pass in 3 ‘O’ Levels or equivalent pass in English; OR
  • Mature students above 21 years
  • Attendance for selection interview
The Diploma is recommended if you:
  • Have the ability to study psychology but do not have the required academic qualifications
  • Wish to have a foundation in the study of human mind and behaviour before deciding to take a degree in psychology
  • Are interested in gaining a recognised award to support your admission into a local or overseas university for psychology studies
Programme Structure:

The Diploma and Advanced Diploma can be taken into two modes: Full-Time and Part-Time studies. Full time is consisting of 2 terms and is taken over 5 – 6 months for each diploma. Part Time study involves 3 terms and can be completed in 8 – 9 months for each diploma.

After completing both of the Diplomas, you can apply for a degree programme at any of the local or foreign Universities that offer degree in psychology.
