University of New Brunswick

The UNB Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is designed to ensure that students receive a broad-based education aimed at understanding the economic and environmental context within which modern business operates, as well as learning about administrative principles and practices.

The programme delivers a comprehensive business education and emphasizes important learning goals: critical thinking, financial literacy, market literacy, and communication skills. Students reading the BBA degree must complete at least 126 credit hours (the equivalent of 42 subjects over four years). 63 of these credit hours are attained from the Stansfield Diploma in Business Administration (or equivalent). The remaining 63 credit hours translates to 21 subjects over the four terms. Students must take 4 core subjects (Competitive Strategy, Organisation Design, Business Law I, and Management Information Systems) and 17 electives. Taken in the correct combinations, the various electives can lead to 5 concentrations: Entrepreneurship, Accounting, Finance, Logistics and Marketing.

Students must maintain an assessment grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 (Grade ‘C’ average) throughout the program and concentrations are completed by achieving a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (Grade ‘B’ average) for approved electives in the area of interest.
