Founded in 1993, Stansfield College is a leading business & law college in Singapore and a specialist provider for the University of London (UOL) degrees programmes. Its philosophy of recruiting only the best, highly qualified and committed academic staff to ensure success of every student in the demanding UOL examinations has resulted in a multifold increase in students from
a mere 200 students in 1993 to its present enrolment of over 1,500 students.

Stansfield College is a division of The Stansfield Group, an educational group committed to promoting education in Singapore and the region. The Group currently owns and manages 4 schools and a hostel in the region. It has the distinction of being the only education provider to be awarded the Enterprise 50, winning the award 5 years in a row from 2002 to 2006, in recognition of its enterprising spirit and drive in pursuing excellence in education. The Group’s founder and chairman, Mr Kannappan Chettiar was also awarded the Rotary-ASME top 10 Entrepreneur of the Year in 2002 and the top entrepreneur in the SICCI-DBS Singapore Indian Entrepreneur award in 2005.

In 2003, Stansfield College was awarded the Singapore Quality Class for Private Education Organisations in recognition of its business excellence. It was also awarded the Casetrust for Education mark in recognition of its good student welfare practices and high quality standards.

As a direct consequence of an increase in demand by discerning students who desire quality education, the range of programmes offered by Stansfield is continuously increasing. Stansfield's 3–year degree programmes are designed for the high school or A level holders while the 2 year graduate entry degree programmes are structured for the working executives and professionals who already hold a first degree. Although the college focuses on degree education, it also offers various diplomas and pre degree courses to ensure access to the undergraduate studies.
